Lets Talk About Education and Changing Lives

Notes, Feedback and Blog posts from our work with children

What Kind of Education Really Matters

What’s the value of a college education that does not teach Sales, Negotiation, Debating, Public Speaking, Writing and Presentation Skills, Problem Solving, Personal Grooming and Presentation, Hygiene and Health? Afterall, these are the skills that make you successful in work life and entrepreneurship. Yet, students pay thousands of dollars and waste 4 years of their lives going through classes that mean little. The Founders of New Learning Foundation had two advanced engineering degrees and a PhD dissertation that they never used in real-life. Yet, by some metrics they were able to create an enterprise software company that became a global leader in its space by using all the other skills that schools and colleges never teach.

The goal of New Learning Foundation (NLF) is to revamp education (perhaps too big a statement) by providing high school and college students with a pathway to learning skills that matter in real life. In addition, NLF wants to identify and provide scholarships to students that have the talent and are willing to work hard to get good jobs that can help their families come out of a perpetual cycle of poverty.

New Learning Foundation's School Visits with JAGRITI

New Learning Foundation's collaboration with JAGRITI took a significant step forward as Mr. Amit Pamecha and Mrs. Vandana Pamecha visited two schools under Jagriti's umbrella. The first stop was Balika Sadan School, where they received a warm welcome from Mr. Jajoo and the Jagriti team. Greeted with enthusiasm by the students, Amit sir and Vandana ma'am engaged in lively interactions, visiting classrooms and sparking insightful discussions. This visit, which took place on February 20th, laid the groundwork for enhanced collaboration, strengthening our shared mission of providing quality education to underprivileged children.

Continuing their journey, on February 27th, they visited Gyan Vidya Mandir School in Sanganer, another institution supported by Jagriti. Here, Amit sir interacted with students, sharing ideas and exchanging thoughts with the school's team. These visits not only fostered connections with students but also facilitated valuable discussions, paving the way for future collaborations. Through these interactions, New Learning Foundation and Jagriti are furthering their commitment to empowering young minds and creating a brighter future for all.

Nurturing Hope and Creativity with Balika Sadan School

28th March 2024

At New Learning Foundation, our mission is not just about the future but also about fostering hope, creativity, and empowerment among young girls. We're thrilled to share the enriching experiences from our recent sessions with the Class 6 students at Balika Sadan School (Jagriti Foundation). These sessions, held on March 28th and April 4th, exemplify our commitment to bettering the future of these bright individuals.

Our first session focused on the importance of hopes and dreams in shaping the future. We encouraged the girls to share their aspirations, and their responses were truly inspiring. From ambitions of serving the nation to simple desires for happiness and family well-being, their dreams reflected a deep sense of optimism and resilience.
In the second session, we delved into the concept of individual identity and creativity. Through a unique activity where each student was given a similar pattern to draw upon, we aimed to showcase the beauty of individual creativity. The girls' diverse interpretations of the pattern highlighted the uniqueness within each of them, reinforcing the idea that every voice and perspective matters.
These sessions at Balika Sadan School are just a small part of our ongoing efforts to empower young girls and pave the way for a brighter future. Through engaging activities, supportive environments, and meaningful interactions, we strive to instill confidence, resilience, and a sense of possibility in every student we reach.
As we reflect on these sessions, we're reminded of the incredible potential within each girl and the transformative power of education and empowerment.

Collaborative Efforts of New Learning Foundation and JAGRITI

We're excited to share the positive outcomes from our recent back-to-back orientations organized by New Learning Foundation in collaboration with JAGRITI, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to child education, women empowerment, and skill development for the underprivileged in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The first orientation, held at JAGRITI adopted Government Senior Secondary School in Jaisinghpura, saw engagement with an impressive crowd of 150 students. Despite the challenge posed by the large number, the session was highly interactive, sparking a newfound interest in the students' future paths. Similarly, at JAGRITI adopted Government Senior Secondary School in C Scheme, with a more intimate setting of 25 girls, we observed a lack of awareness about pursuing higher education. Despite the challenges, the positive response from both students and principals has been heartening, indicating the impact of our collaborative efforts in fostering awareness and motivation among underprivileged students.

JAGRITI's vision to eradicate illiteracy among underprivileged children aligns perfectly with our mission at New Learning Foundation. Through our partnership, we aim to reach more students and make a meaningful impact in their lives. With JAGRITI's support, we have been able to conduct orientations in 18 Government and Private Schools across urban slums in Jaipur and Ajmer, providing quality education and vocational training to over 5455 underprivileged children, free of cost. Together, we're working towards creating a brighter future for these students, ensuring they have the opportunity for a happy and dignified life through education and skill development

Empowering Futures: A Glimpse into the JAGRITI Gyan Vihar Mandir Orientation Session

December 21st, 2023

At Newlearning Foundation, we believe in going beyond traditional education to shape the future leaders of tomorrow. On December 21st 2023, we conducted our orientation session  with 15 bright minds from the 11th and 12th classes of Jagriti Gyan Vidya Mandir School, Sanganer (Jaipur), organised through Jagriti Foundation. This immersive experience aimed not only to provide insight into the potential benefits of career awareness but also to encourage students to envision and plan for their futures.

The session commenced with a mix of amazement and curiosity among the students. To break the ice, we kicked off with an engaging game that seamlessly transitioned into discussions about their aspirations and life goals. This approach helped the students ease up and gain familiarity with the session's objectives. The inclusion of scrapbooks added a thoughtful touch, leaving a lasting impression on the students.

As the session progressed, students overcame their initial hesitations and began expressing their thoughts and feelings comfortably. One noteworthy exercise involved asking them how they would utilize 5,000 rupees, using the scrapbooks as a canvas for their ideas. The responses varied, showcasing the diverse dreams of the students. Some planned on giving everything to their parents, while others had ambitious plans such as investing in the stock market or even developing a business.

The session not only made students more aware of goal setting and the importance of future planning but also provided valuable insights into their visions and motivations. Witnessing the array of dreams, from supporting family to venturing into business, was truly inspiring. This exercise underlined the significance of offering guidance and resources to help students shape their future paths.

The orientation session was a resounding success, thanks to its interactive nature and the thoughtful inclusion of activities like the scrapbook exercise. As we strive to make a difference in the lives of these students, we are proud to be at the forefront of innovative educational approaches. Together, we can empower the future generation to dream big, plan strategically, and embark on a journey of lifelong learning and success.

Nurturing dreams with Aashita Foundation

Jan 10, 2024

We recently had the pleasure of conducting a transformative orientation at Aashita Foundation on January 10th 2023. Our focus was on a smaller group of 8 girls, allowing for more personalized discussions and meaningful activities aimed at empowering them to envision and plan for their futures.

The session began with icebreaker activities designed to create a warm and inclusive environment. Games provided an engaging platform for the girls to interact and open up, setting the tone for a session filled with valuable insights and shared experiences.
Creativity played a central role in our approach, with drawing and writing activities in personalized scrapbooks. This simple yet powerful exercise allowed the girls to express their thoughts about the future, tapping into their imaginative and creative sides. The scrapbooks became a canvas for their aspirations, making the session both enjoyable and introspective.

Recognizing the limited awareness these girls had about various career options due to their orphaned status and private environment, our orientation included discussions about different careers in various areas of life. We aimed to broaden their horizons and inspire them to dream big. A significant aspect of the session was highlighting the importance of future planning. Through discussions and activities, we encouraged the girls to envision their goals and provided guidance on charting a path towards their dreams. In our commitment to offering comprehensive support, we shared knowledge about upcoming trends in various fields. The girls gained insights into the dynamic landscape of different industries, empowering them to make informed decisions about their career paths.

At NewLearning Foundation, our commitment goes beyond traditional education. We strive to empower these girls with knowledge, skills, and the confidence to shape their own destinies. The orientation at Aashita Foundation was a journey of empowerment, filled with laughter, creativity, and valuable insights. NewLearning Foundation remains dedicated to making a difference in the lives of these girls, offering them the tools and support needed to navigate the path towards a brighter, more fulfilling future. Together, we are creating opportunities for dreams to flourish and empowering the next generation of leaders.

Transformative Teacher Training

Jan, 11th 2023

In our pursuit of fostering excellence in education, we recently conducted a dynamic teacher training workshop at Jagriti Balika Sadan School, C scheme on January 11th organised through Jagriti Foundation. With a focus on self-motivation and effective engagement with children, the session aimed to empower educators with the tools they need to create an inspiring learning environment.
Understanding the pivotal role teachers play in shaping young minds, the workshop prioritized self-motivation and emphasized the significance of self-awareness among educators. In a highly interactive session, participants engaged in introspective activities, fostering self-reflection and a deeper understanding of their individual strengths.

The first segment of the workshop centered on self-reflection, enabling teachers to explore and appreciate their unique strengths. Recognizing that motivated teachers are crucial for continuous learning and skill development, the second half focused on harnessing these strengths in interactions with students. The key takeaway emphasized that a teacher's self-awareness and motivation significantly impact the overall learning environment.
The response from the teachers was overwhelmingly positive. Their enthusiasm for learning and genuine interest in adopting new techniques and technology to enhance their teaching methods was evident throughout the session. Both teachers and the administration team provided feedback that indicated a strong eagerness to implement the valuable insights gained from the workshop.

The teacher training workshop at Balika Sadan School was a resounding success, with engaged participants eager to enhance their teaching skills. We are grateful for the ongoing support that enables us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of educators and, by extension, the students they serve. Together, we are shaping a future where inspired educators pave the way for empowered learners.
