Work That We Have Done

• Worked (Grant and Direct Involvement) with Yoga Gives Back to launch a pilot of a computer training for children in West Bengal, India with Nishtha foundation. The project involves providing laptops and chromebooks to the foundation by NLF and define a curriculum that results in meaningful careers for the children.

• Supported (Grant) Vision-Aid Inc to provide tools, curriculum and scholarship to the vision impaired. Vision-Aid is a recipient of multiple awards and innovator of multiple techniques and assistive devices for training the vision impaired.

• Supported (Grant) Udaan Trust (Flight Foundation). The Udaan Trust was created to give hope to young girls who struggle with the cost of education. Udaan believes that educating and empowering girls in poverty is the best investment anyone can make to break the cycle of poverty and child marriage and instead, create a path to success for them. • Worked (Grant and Direct Involvement) with Edu Girls in supporting schools for girls that are completely free and are focused on providing world class education to children from under-privileged families making less than $150 a month in family income. Our focus with EduGirls has been in providing tablet based learning programs, early childhood education and providing scholarships to the graduating class to pursue a career of their choice. • Supported (Grant) Upakar Foundation to provide scholarships to students in the US based on academic excellence and financial need. More information at www.upakar.org

• Funded a project to build leadership training and mentoring (LTM) to girls from poor neighborhoods in Jaipur, India. A majority of children in the slums of Jaipur have never received any coaching on Public Speaking, Debating, Eye Contact and Communications, dressing to create and impact, negotiations, etc. The LTM project consists of a group of mentors and a powerful curriculum that visits different schools and neighborhoods and provides training and counseling that can provide a meaningful difference in the lives of the children.

• Supported Prakashdeep to help children from poor neighborhoods in Delhi get free quality education, a substantial mid-day meal (which they may not get at home) and basic medical care in a safe and friendly environment. The classes at Prakashdeep are often taught under a tree in neighborhood parks.  More information at prakashdeep.org

• Provided grants to Pratham to support their digital literacy and vocational training programs. Pratham is one of the largest learning organization in India created to improve the quality of education and to ensure every child is in school and learning well. More information at www.pratham.org

• Provided grants to Ekal Vidyalya to run 30 schools in rural villages with no access to nearby schools or education. Ekal is focused on integrated and holistic development of rural villages in India and Nepal by running one teacher schools. More information at www.ekal.org

• Venture Investment in Fiveable.me is partnership with AMVA Partners. Fiveable is creating inclusive and social learning experiences where all students are invited to learn for free. Fiveable is trying to overcome massive systemic inequalities in schools by leveraging powerful technology, content and passionate teachers. www.fiveable.me
